Workshop Overview
How an Engine ECU Thinks.
The “How an Engine ECU Thinks” workshop is an industry-oriented, hands-on learning program designed to provide students with practical exposure to automotive ECU, embedded systems, sensor interfacing, actuator control and embedded C programming. Participants will learn how an Engine ECU receives sensor inputs, processes them through control logic, and operates actuators in real time.

- 0101Understanding the working and decision-making process of an Engine ECU
- 0202Interfacing automotive sensors (ECT, IAT, MAP, TPS, Crank Sensor)
- 0303Sensor signal processing and ADC-based parameter conversion
- 0404Injector and ignition / actuator control
- 0505Embedded C programming for automotive control applications
- 0606Signal conditioning, driver circuits, debugging and testing
- 0707Basic fuel-injection, ignition and engine calibration concepts
- 0808Building and testing a mini Engine Control Unit (ECU)
Hands-On Activities
- Interface 5 key sensors: ECT, IAT, MAP, TPS, Crank Sensor
- Control 2 actuators: Injector & Spark Plug using L298N
- Design ADC & driver circuits
- Write embedded C code to process and control real-time signals
- Build your own mini Engine Control Unit (ECU)
